May/9/08 TUSKEGEE AIRMEN, INC- THE GENERAL LLOYD W. "FIG" NEWTON CHAPTER: Announces it's first annual golf classic in "Remembrance and Honor." This tournament is dedicated to Captain Robert W. Lawrence, an original Tuskegee Airman and member of this chapter. Bob was a combat fighter pilot who provided escort to B-17 bombers during World War II. He was awarded the Congressional Gold Medal in 2007. He joined the Lonely Eagles Chapter on November 8, 2007. He will be forever remembered as a friend, a hero, and a great American.  The event begins at 1p.m., Check-in starts at 11:30 a.m., Shot Gun start at 1 p.m., 4 person Scramble; Tijeras Arroyo Golf Course, Kirtland Air Force Base, NM. PROCEEDS FROM BENEFIT: The chapter Scholarship Fund and Young Eagles Flight Program. TOURNAMENT INCLUDES:Lunch, Greens Fee, Cart Fee, Range Balls, and prizes for Closest to the Pin and Long Drive.  Entrée Fee: $75 per Golfer; Entry Deadline: April 15, 2008.
